Whales take passage as ice melts

Bowhead whales, the giants of the Arctic, are using the Northwest Passage to move across the top of the Americas.

Skeletons, DNA samples and harpoon heads have all suggested that bowhead populations living on each side of the continent did meet and mingle.

Now, research published in the journal Biology Letters has used satellite tags to provide confirmation.

The work may provide insights into the development of Arctic cultures in which bowhead hunting plays a central role.

Mads Peter Heide-Jorgensen from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources led a team that has satellite-tagged more than 100 bowheads over the last decade - much of the work funded by oil and gas companies interested in the Arctic's new mineral wealth.

Last August, as the Arctic sea ice neared its annual minimum, the satellite data told them that one whale from the Greenland side and one from the Alaskan side had arrived in pretty much the same area, north of the Canadian mainland.

They spent about 10 days circling in the same patch of water before heading back to their respective home ranges.

This is the first time such mingling has been seen directly, although there is plenty of circumstantial evidence that it has happened sporadically in the past.

Bowhead skeletons are found on elevated beaches through the Canadian archipelago. In 19th Century Alaska, whales were caught containing tips of harpoons that had been thrown by whalers in the Atlantic.

Passage may have been easier in the last four summers than in preceding decades, as the Arctic ice has shrunk to a smaller size than at any time in the satellite record.

"I'm pretty sure that the low sea ice in the summer has triggered this migration through this area," Dr Heide-Jorgensen told BBC News.

"I'm pretty sure that when it occurred in the past, when we got all these skulls on the beach, that was during a warm period.

"During any climatic period, there could have been years with less ice in the Northwest Passage; and I'm pretty sure the bowheads can find cracks [in the ice] that are too small to show up on satellite images."

Whaling route Continue reading the main story

End Quote MP Heide-Jorgensen

The other fascinating line of evidence for bowhead migration along northern Canada lies in the human societies that depend on the whales, where communities are structured around the process of whaling.

The best known example today are the Inupiat of Alaska.

They are descended from the Thule culture, which appears to have emerged in Alaska about 1,000 years ago.

Thule people spread across Canada to Greenland in the three centuries following.

They ate meat and blubber from the bowhead, built houses using their bones and burned their oil.

Given their dependence on the single species, could they have made the migration without access to the whales?

Anne Jensen, an archaeologist who has lived in the northern Alaskan town of Barrow for many years and is a leading authority on the Thule people, said the routes taken by the two whales last year passed close by sites that date the Thule expansion.

"This supports the idea that the expansion was connected to whaling," she told BBC News.

"People were moving - presumably after having done some small-group exploring that is archaeologically invisible - to places where they knew whales went, perhaps in a period when the ice cover was reduced for some reason.

"Certainly, they were not settling in places where whales weren't available at that point.

"Since the Thule seem to have been able to hunt whales from the ice at leads, it doesn't mean that there was an ice-free Northwest Passage - just one that bowheads could get through, with enough leads for hunters to see and catch the whales."

Of all the great whales, the bowheads are the best adapted to life in the harsh Arctic environment, with a domed bony head that can force a way through relatively thin sheets of ice, and a thick layer of blubber.

"They have their lunch package on them - they can move for months without eating because they have blubber almost half a metre thick, so so they can move through the Northwest Passage without eating," said Dr Heide-Jorgensen.

Genetic evidence also suggests that in periods past, bowheads also moved along the northern coast of Siberia.

They do not have a set migration pattern, unlike some other whale species - which raises questions about how they may adapt in future, if the projected declines in summer Arctic sea ice materialise.

"I'm sure they will be going all over the area when there's open water," said Dr Heide-Jorgensen.

"They're capable of moving relatively long distances in a short period of time, and they can venture into areas where we haven't seen them for a very long time - so I'm sure they will use the open water if the ice disappears."

The one question mark would be over their food supply, with major changes in Arctic sea ice likely to disrupt food webs that include the swarms of copepods (tiny crustaceans) that are the key ingredient of their diet.

Mexico says key drug cartel figure arrested (AP)

MEXICO CITY ? The Mexican army captured a key figure in the cult-like Knights Templar drug cartel that is sowing violence in western Mexico, a top officer announced Tuesday.

Saul Solis Solis, 49, a former police chief and one-time congressional candidate, was captured without incident Monday in the cartel's home state of Michoacan, Brig. Gen. Edgar Luis Villegas told reporters during a presentation of Solis.

Solis is considered one of the principal lieutenants in the Knights Templar, which split late last year from La Familia, a pseudo-religious drug gang known as a major trafficker of methamphetamine.

He is accused in various attacks on the military and federal police, including one in May 2007 that killed an officer and four soldiers, Villegas said. Solis also is suspected of planting and harvesting drugs, managing clandestine labs manufacturing synthetic drugs and of attacks on police facilities in cities around the entire state.

Mexico's attorney general had offered a $1.1 million reward for information leading to his capture.

Solis is a cousin of one of the Knight's Templar's main alleged leaders, Enrique Plancarte Solis. He served as director of public safety in the Michoacan town of Turicato from 2003-2005. He also ran for the federal congress in 2009 as a Green Party candidate, finishing fourth in his district with about 11,000 votes.

Authorities said a judge already had issued an arrest warrant for Solis on charges of organized crime and drug trafficking at the time of the vote.

President Felipe Calderon launched his attack on organized crime in 2006 in his home state of Michoacan, where much of the violence had been attributed to La Familia. Knights Templar became a splinter group after the leader of La Familia, Nazario Moreno Gonzalez, was killed in a shootout with federal police in December. A second La Familia leader, Jose de Jesus Mendez Vargas, was arrested in June, leading Calderon's government to say it had all but dismantled the gang. But violence continues in Michoacan and other parts of western Mexico where Knights Templar is trying to control territory.

Both groups claim to be devoted to God and to be fighting poverty and injustice under a strict code of conduct.

Drug violence has claimed more than 35,000 lives since 2006, according to government figures. Others put the number at more than 40,000.

Business Marketing and Solutions ? Outsourcing The Business IT ...

We all need a little specialist support from time to time and this is most certainly the case for my company! The specialist support that I am thinking about here and that I will be focusing on for the purposes of this article is for our IT. Over the years I have had a number of less than desirable experiences in this field ? as an example we managed to lose our ability to use the internet for fully two weeks a few years ago ? yes I am fully aware as to just how crazy this probably sounds to you.

In life it is important that we learn from any mistakes that we make and I would like to think that I am a person that is able to do this. As an example is the fact that I now have a computer support London specialist signed up on a monthly retainer. To be fair it did take me a rather long time to actually go down this route and in truth it is something that I should have got around to organising much earlier ? it would have certainly saved me and the business from having to go through all of those unpleasant ordeals!

Now that we have finally signed up with this IT support London company I now feel some what at ease and I can finally gain a good nights sleep! When one of our computer systems start to play up these days it is like ? no problem bring it on! Then a simple call to our specialist IT support and I can then once again focus on other pressing matters. That I guess is the undoubted power of outsourcing. I would most certainly recommend outsourcing your business IT specialist services as it has been of huge benefit to me and my company.

Non-profit Organizations must be spread in the World | Company ...

The desire to possess throughout the history of mankind has left the word ?profit,? and it has bound us by what we call ?organizations.? Organizations are collections of people who work together and coordinate their actions to achieve a wide variety of goals and desired future outcomes.1 Then organizations were divided into profit and non-for-profit organizations (after called ?NPOs?). Even though officially history of NPOs are less than one hundred years, these existed from the start of human?s economic activity. For example, churches, temples, charities, community colleges, and library are non-for-profit organizations. Today, the world economy is growing more and more, and so are the activities of organizations. However, NPOs had dilemmas as their activity area grew. These were ?for what,? ?why,? and ?for whom.? The profit organizations exist to make profits for owners. For them, the laws and theory have been already much arranged. On the other hand, NPOs did not have proper theory until stakeholder theory was arranged by R. Edward Freeman in 1984.2 Based on this theory; NPOs are increasing their activity area for human of modern society and ethics.

?

To know the relationship between the stakeholder theory and NPOs, we should understand what a stakeholder is. A stakeholder is a person, a group or an organization that has an interest in organizations. Stakeholders have needs and expectations and can be internal or external to organizations. For example, charities and other NPOs have diverse stakeholder groups, often with conflicting needs and expectations, so prioritizing and focusing on the voices that must be heard is vital.3 It includes of stockholders, managers, employees, suppliers and distributors, customers, community, society, and nation-state, etc. Among these, stockholders, managers, customer and community play an important part. The stockholders have a claim on a company because when they buy its stock or shares they become its owners. Thus, they watch the company and its managers closely to ensure that management is working diligently to increase the company?s profitability.4 Secondly, managers are a vital stakeholders group because they are responsible for using a company?s financial capital and human resources to increase its performance and thus its stock price.5 They are the stakeholder group that bears the responsibility to decide which goals an organization should pursue to most benefit stakeholders and how to make the most efficient use of resources to achieve those goals. Customers are often regarded as the most critical stakeholder group since if a company cannot attract them to buy its products, it cannot stay in business. Thus, managers and employees must work to increase efficiency and effectiveness in order to create loyal customers and attract new ones. Finally, community refers to physical locations like towns or cities or social environments such as ethnic neighborhoods in which companies are located. A community provides a company with the physical and social infrastructure that allows it to operate. In return, a company contributes to the economy of the town or region and often determines whether the community prospers or declines through the salaries, wages, taxes it pays, and their revenues. This shows the company?s social involvement and business ethics. Therefore we know that the stakeholder theory is a theory of organizational management and business ethics of the needs of numerous stakeholders.

?

Namely, the business ethics is derived from the stakeholder theory. The dictionary definition of ethics are the inner guiding moral principles, values, and beliefs that people use to analyze or interpret a situation and then decide what is the ?right? or appropriate way to behave.7 However, business ethics has a more detailed meaning than ethics. It (also known as corporate ethics) is a form of applied ethics or professional ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that arise in a business environment. It applies to all aspects of business conduct and is relevant to the conduct of individuals and business organizations as a whole. Applied ethics is a field of ethics that deals with ethical questions in many fields such as medical, technical, legal and business ethics.8 Therefore, business ethics states the human morality for the people involved that arises from the stakeholder theory, and these cannot be easily found in contemporary for-profit organizations. However, NPOs are more close to business ethics for human than profit organizations. NPOs not only exclude profit, but also do not distribute its surplus funds to owners or shareholders, but instead use them to help pursue its goals.9 Such activities and purpose of NPOs are accord with business ethics and the stakeholder theory. For examples, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, Children?s Defense Fund, Animal Legal Defense Fund, Earth Island Institute, American Red Cross, Doctors without Borders, etc., are typical NPOs.

?

Sometimes we asked ?why is it so important that organizations in general, should act ethically and temper their pursuit of self-interest by considering the effects of their actions on others?? The answer is that the relentless pursuit of self-interest can lead to a collective disaster when one or more people start to profit from being unethical because this encourages other people to act in the same way. For that reason, the stakeholder theory is necessary. The works and scopes of NPOs should extend more with its base on the stakeholder theory as the economy develops. As previously stated, the profits are NPOs? purpose. Their purpose is to promote public interests and contribute to our community through schools, hospitals, charities, and relief works. To help this, the United States government gives benefits to them such as tax exemption.10 However, today, they are facing a new problem. There is a conflict between profit organizations and NPOs as they both extend their scopes. NPOs get defeated by for-profit organizations in many areas. For example, Merck determined to close sixteen plants and cut sixteen thousand workers after merger and acquisition.11 However, NPOs that strives for employment stability cannot do anything. Furthermore, people have a fixed idea that non-for-profit organizations must have supports and cannot keep their organizations without support. Therefore, NPOs should find solutions to increase public benefits more efficiently and effectively. The government also needs to establish NPOs that would promote public benefit.

?

We also can be Stakeholders. For us, we should think about why NPOs need us. NPOs are based on the business ethics, which are perfect demonstrations of the stakeholder theory. The stakeholder theory that emphasizes duty and moral between stakeholders is a theory for human and NPOs that exists for public benefit. As the society evolves, people are learning about the stakeholder theory. Therefore, we should promote NPOs that work with their base on business ethics as our community grows and develops.

George Strait bows big, but Lil Wayne tops album chart (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) ? George Strait had the week's best SoundScan bow, but in the end the country superstar was still just playing straight man to the comical indomitability of rapper Lil Wayne.

Not surprisingly, Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" took a big tumble in Tha Week II, falling 77 percent from its blockbuster debut. But a 219,000-unit second week still represents the kind of sales most other acts would give their gold teeth for.

In a battle to see who would debut highest on the Billboard album chart, it was the Beatles, with a reissue of their collection of 27 No. 1 singles, versus George Strait, who can claim a record-setting 57 No. 1 country singles on his resume.

Neither was destined to resume their chart-topping ways with Wayne still in the picture. But Strait fared best, selling 91,000 copies of "Here for a Good Time" to debut at No. 3, behind second-place Adele. The country veteran, who's celebrating the 30th anniversary of his first hit, may be slipping a little, as this represents his weakest opening figure since 1994.

The Beatles' "1" made its way back onto the chart at No. 4 more than a decade after its initial release, thanks to becoming available on iTunes for the first time and a digital remastering of the CD version that sold in many outlets for a bargain-priced $9.99. Having already sold nearly 12 million units, the hits set added 60,000 more to its tally.

After being marooned in lesser regions of the chart for a while, Maroon 5 moved back into the top 10 for the first time in 11 months. The reason? The band's recently released hit, "Moves Like Jagger," previously only available as a digital single, was stripped onto new copies of the album. The "Hands All Over" disc handily jumped 16 spots to No. 7 with sales of 29,000.

Hugh Laurie's New Orleans-flavored "Let Them Talk" arrived at No. 16 with 20,000 sold, putting the "House" star well ahead of Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins in the recent actor-to-singer sweepstakes.

Proving there's limited hunger for a Mac attack right now, Lindsey Buckingham's "Seeds We Sow" could only sew up a No. 45 entry.

The digital songs chart saw Maroon 5 returning to the top, after a brief post-VMAs interruption by Adele. Clearly, the newfound availability of "Moves Like Jagger" on the band's resurgent album wasn't stopping budget-conscious fans from picking it up as a single. Maroon 5's Christina Aguilera-enhanced hit sold another 220,000 downloads.

How much have pop fans missed Kelly Clarkson? Hard to tell straight away, as pop's Miss Independent sold 107,000 first-week downloads of "Mr. Know It All," good enough only for a No. 9 bow on the digital songs chart.

Lil Wayne's tenure at the top of the album chart will likely be cut short next week, since Lady Antebellum's "Own the Night," which came out Tuesday, should establish chart ownership for at least one frame.

Andrea Endimiani, M.D., Ph.D., Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology, University of Bern, Switzerland, has been chosen by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) to receive a 2011 ICAAC Young Investigator Award for combining basic microbiology, epidemiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to investigate the impact of drug resistance traits on the outcome of infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria. Sponsored by the ASM, this award recognizes an early career scientist for research excellence in microbiology and infectious diseases.

His nominator, Roberto Bonomo, American Academy of Microbiology Fellow from Case Western Reserve University and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, describes some of his achievements, "Dr. Endimiani has undertaken a series of insightful studies examining the prevalence of KPC-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in multiple cities across the United States. He was the first to describe the coexistence of the blaKPC with the plasmid mediated qnr genes."

Dr. Endimiani received his M.D. and achieved board certification in Medical Microbiology and Virology at the University of Insubria (Varese, Italy). He remained there to earn his Ph.D. in Immunopathology under the supervision of Antonio Toniolo, a supporter of Dr. Endimiani's nomination. During that period, Dr. Endimiani worked as Medical Microbiologist at the University Hospital of Varese and at the Institute for Pharmacokinetic and Analytical Studies in Ligornetto, Switzerland. He also collaborated with Gian Maria Rossolini and Gianfranco Amicosante, two internationally recognized experts in ?-lactamases. Dr. Rossolini, of the University of Siena, Italy, describes Dr. Endimiani's publications as "well-written and including articles, reviews and editorials, showing a remarkable aptitude for research and scholarship, and a well-rounded and rapidly developing scientific personality."

In 2006, Dr. Endimiani joined the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center under the direction of David L. Paterson, where he studied molecular aspects of drug resistance in Gram-negative bacteria and their importance in the patient management. In 2007, Dr. Endimiani moved to the Infectious Diseases Division at the Case Western Reserve University and the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center to work with his mentor, Dr. Bonomo, and Louis B. Rice. Here he studied the biochemistry and molecular biology of extended-spectrum ?-lactamases, KPC carbapenemases, and plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance determinants. He also contributed to the evaluation of new antibiotics (e.g., ACHN-490), a new inhibitor of ?-lactamases (e.g., NXL104), and a new diagnostic technique (e.g., PCR/ESI-MS and microarrays).

After completing his training, Dr. Endimiani joined the Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology at the University of Bern, Switzerland under the supervision of Vincent Perreten. Currently, Dr. Endimiani is a medical microbiologist at the Institute for Infectious Diseases at the University of Bern, Inselspital under the direction of Dr. Kathrin Mhlemann.

Dr. Endimiani is now one of the leading specialists in antibiotic resistance in Gram-negative pathogens. He is member of the Editorial Board of Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy and Associate Member of the Faculty of 1000. Dr. Endimiani has authored more than 50 papers in the field of antibiotic resistance and presented 47 communications at international conferences. Several of the papers have been cited in Faculty 1000 and Microbe magazine. "Over his career, he managed to master basic microbiology, epidemiology, and pharmacology and was able to transfer these tools to the clinical setting," explains Dr. Toniolo. "I consider him a precious asset for modern clinical centers, medical schools and the pharma industry. In conclusion, Dr. Endimiani has always been willing to introduce new tools for investigating the clinical response of evolving pathogens to antibacterials."

###

The ICAAC Young Investigator Award will be presented during ASM's 51st Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), September 17-20, 2011 in Chicago, IL. ASM is the world's oldest and largest life science organization and has more than 40,000 members worldwide. ASM's mission is to advance the microbiological sciences and promote the use of scientific knowledge for improved health, economic, and environmental well-being.

AP Exclusive: Iran letter shows 'charm offensive'

(AP) ? A new Iranian offer to meet with the world powers is unusually short on preconditions and suggests Tehran may even be ready to touch on some nuclear issues that were previously taboo, according to the copy of a confidential letter from a senior Iranian official.

Shared with The Associated Press, the letter is short on details of what the Islamic Republic is ready to discuss with the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany. But it differs from previous negotiating offers by avoiding demands the six powers are bound to reject out of hand.

And it says Iran is "ready to cooperate in ... nonproliferation and peaceful nuclear cooperation." That's a possible nod to six-power demands that the Islamic Republic address world concerns over its nuclear program, and suspicions that it could used to make weapons ? something Tehran has refused to do in earlier meetings.

Compared to Iran's previous offer, the letter, by chief Iranian nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, is notable in its moderate tone.

Western diplomats, however, characterized it Tuesday as part of Iran's new "charm offensive" ? an effort to derail plans to refer Tehran anew to the U.N. Security Council for its nuclear defiance.

Iran already is under four sets of Security Council sanctions for refusing to freeze uranium enrichment. Tehran says it needs the program to make reactor fuel but the council fears it could be re-engineered to produce fissile warhead material ? despite Iranian insistence it has no such plans.

The Islamic Republic also has stonewalled International Atomic Energy Agency efforts to probe intelligence that it might be secretly experimenting with a nuclear weapons program. In its latest Iran report earlier this month, the IAEA for the first time said it is "increasingly concerned" about credible "extensive and comprehensive" intelligence suggesting that Iran continues its secret weapons work.

IAEA chief Yukiya Amano said Monday that he plans to share some of that intelligence with his agency's 35-nation board, and diplomats say he will use his next report in November to detail his information on the allegations, including Iran's suspected work on a nuclear warhead.

That report, in turn, could serve as a springboard for renewed IAEA referral to the Security Council, which first got involved in Iran's nuclear file in 2006 after the Vienna-based agency reported Tehran for resuming uranium enrichment.

As word of such plans ripples through the IAEA, Iran has embarked on what appears to be a counteroffensive meant to blunt the Western-led efforts for new referral and possible new sanctions.

Tehran earlier this month invited a senior IAEA team to tour previously restricted nuclear sites, including a reactor under construction that will produce plutonium once finished. It has also signaled it is ready to discuss some of the nuclear weapons allegations against it. And it says it is willing to lift previous restrictions on IAEA monitoring of its nuclear program and place it under "full control" of the agency for five years if U.N. sanctions are lifted.

That condition is unlikely to be met if Tehran insists on continuing enrichment. While Amano has welcomed signs of more openness on the part of Tehran, he and Western diplomats say Iran has a long way to go to dispel suspicions of a nuclear cover-up masking potential weapons ambitions.

Jalili's letter, dated Sept.6, does not really move Tehran further along that path, despite its more measured language and hint of a readiness to discuss nuclear issues.

Like previous correspondence from Iran it still insists that other vague topics ? "economic fields, justice, development and international peace and security" be also brought to the table in any new negotiations.

More significantly, the letter suggests Iran remains dead-set against long-standing six-power demands to give up ? or at least pause ? in uranium enrichment.

Iran is a signatory of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and "any measures that would lead to deprivation of the NPT rights of a nation ... is unacceptable," it says, in an allusion to its refusal to budge on enrichment.

Addressed to EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, who acts as a spokeswoman for the six powers, the letter is in response to a July letter from her to Jalili setting out conditions under which the six are ready to resume discussion.

A senior diplomat familiar with that letter said that it urged Iran to enter nuclear discussions, even while repeating that Tehran's interlocutors were ready to address some of Tehran's non-nuclear concerns.

Jalili's last letter sent to Ashton in May and also shared with the AP was quickly rejected by her and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton as disappointing.

Back then, the Iranian negotiator proposed that a new round of talks focus on a host of issues including its rights as a nation, and even high-seas piracy, instead of international fears that over its nuclear program.

The last round of talks in January ended in failure, with Iranian negotiators fending off efforts by the other side to at least touch on Iran's nuclear activities.

Bob Seger ends iTunes holdout (AP)

DETROIT ? Bob Seger is ending his time as an iTunes holdout.

The Detroit Free Press reports ( http://bit.ly/q9AyTq) that the Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member's move into digital music sales will start Tuesday, when downloads of the concert albums "`Live' Bullet" and "Nine Tonight" are set to appear on iTunes and Amazon.com.

The rocker says his remaining catalog "will come out in dribs and drabs."

Seger tells the newspaper for a story published Monday he'll also use Apple Inc.'s iTunes to unveil songs from his sizable backlog of unreleased material.

The Michigan resident had been among the few notable acts that staunchly held out from putting his music on iTunes. Segar's manager Ed "Punch" Andrews says the decision would keep the artist "current."

What Is Hormonal Hair Loss? May It Be Managed?

People lose hair for varied reasons. Illness and drugs, like chemotherapy to treat most cancers, could cause hair loss. Hair loss can be inherited from a parent. Often, hair thins as a result of it is wonderful-textured, or because too many harsh chemicals have been used on it, so it breaks easily.

What if I have hormonal hair loss? The following pictures present typical female hormonal hair loss patterns. Typical female baldness begins with a generalized thinning of the whole scalp. Opposite to male sample baldness is that no receding hairlines or hair loss on the crown takes place.

A generalized thinning of the hair occurs. It is seldom that a man shows the identical sort of hair loss pattern as a woman

The thickened hair root prevents the hair bulb from returning again to its place within the skin. Due to this, new hair can be produced, however will be unable to settle. The expansion section will then be disrupted and the hair bulb will continuously produce new hair, which, as a substitute of lasting the conventional 5 years, will solely change into a number of weeks or months old. Now you?ve fixed hair loss!

Personally, I choose products by L?Oreal, equivalent to Excellence. It is simple on the hair. It never made my hair really feel any thinner and including some auburn highlights to my brown hair always makes me feel like a brand new person. As a result of my hair is ok, I by no means use the enclosed conditioners with hair color products. Hair conditioners often make positive hair feel thinner and unmanageable. However, if you do need to use some conditioner, use solely a fraction of what?s really useful! And by no means use conditioners in your scalp, just put some at the hair ends.

Another great product that I highly advocate is Rogaine. Rogaine has gained a popularity of with the ability to reverse the hair thinning course of!

Backside line: While we?re feeling the best way we do in the course of the menopausal years, I think it is important to attempt anything to help ourselves appear and feel better.

Now that you already know a bit of more about what are the causes for hair loss, we urge you to find out more about how hair loss, or hair thinning can be prevented! Yes, it?s true, there are various efficient products on the market proper now which has been proven to be truly effective in reversing thinning hair problems! Come! Find out more!

'Sickest movie of all time' gets sequel

What do you do when you've already made the supposed "sickest movie of all time"? You get even sicker, apparently.

The original "Human Centipede" puzzled even longtime film critic Roger Ebert. "I am required to award stars to films I review," he wrote. "This time, I refuse to do it. ... Is the movie good? Is it bad? Does it matter? It is what it is and occupies a world where the stars don't shine."

The 2010 horror film, about a mad scientist who sews three people together in perhaps the most disturbing way possible, has already become a legendary punchline whenever gross movies are discussed. Cat toys and necklaces were based on its creepy plot, "South Park" riffed it in an episode, and some theater nerds even staged a musical version.

Story: Lights, camera, awful! Movies we hate the most

More people have probably heard of the movie's title than will ever actually see it, and for good reason. "This nasty stuff plays like a cross between 'Saw,' 'Naked Lunch' and 'Bride of the Monster,'" J.R. Jones wrote in the Chicago Reader.

Story: What are the worst movies of past 5 years?

Filmmaker Tom Six proudly referred to the original film as the "sickest movie of all time." After its release, Six bragged that he was working on a sequel that would make the original film "look like My Little Pony" in comparison.

And so he has.

The new film, "The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence," has its world premiere Sept. 22 at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, coming to additional theaters on Oct. 7.

Story: Gwyneth Paltrow adds to list of gruesome death scenes

The web has plot details for those who must know, but all we'll say here is that the centipede involves 12 people, not the original three. We suspect all the My Little Pony film festivals in the world won't help cleanse your brain if you choose to see it.
